March 2011 ~ Things are heating up here, the hot pepper plants are blooming and we pickled a whole bunch! Let us know and we can send you a jar.
I finally learnt to say Aunt Fiona. I love mastering new words. It makes everybody smile. Everything is fine, my cast is off now, the dogs are still barking, Daddy is still miserable, Mom still calls me baby girl. I went to Miami with Mom, she had to work, so I stayed with my Pookie Yandi (Wendi). She is so much fun, we played beauty shop and dress up, can you imagine? I like to do things all by myself and I am having to work on Mommy to get her trained about it.
All the family came out to Cayman Kai for cousin Ta-Ta’s wedding. It was really pretty on the beach at Uncle Mikol’s & Aunt Rebecca's, and I am still saying “No Chelby, Chelby No!” whenever something goes wrong.
We finally got to go back out on the boat this past Sunday, til now, it’s been too cold for this island girl. Daddy and Uncle Charlie can sure put away that apple juice in the pretty bottle.
Not much else to report, so hang in there, Easter break is coming up. If you want to talk to me, I like to Skype pretty well - that’s how my Pookie Yandi and I stay in touch, a phone is so outdated.
Don’t forget to pray to gentle Jesus for all those people in Japan.
February, 2011 ~ Sorry about the late update, but Mom and Dad have been real busy and I could not find a good secretary to document my commentary.
Well the bad news is I fractured my arm. I thought I could fly off the new slide but my wings did not open in time. A little inconvenient and it scratches, but all in all and this too shall pass.
Apart from that, my vocabulary is growing by leaps and bounds – the people at the bank were very excited when I wished them “Happy New Year! Pretty soon, I could also answer Happy New Year with “and to you too”. Language is much, much fun. Burt has become Flurt, and bone, phone! Amazing. Still can’t wrap tongue around saying Fiona, though. She will have to suffer with being called Charlie a little while longer.
I remember everything. I have a swing in the backyard too and it’s real cool, especially when I go up high, it really gets my blood running and it feels good, but don’t worry, I’m not trying that flying stunt again.
In January, we spent 4 days in Jamaica. I had the run of 2 beach houses with a pool and the sea just beyond. We ate and laughed and swam, it was so much fun, and there were these lovely people there who did all the fixing of everything and even cleaned up the kitchen! They loved to play with me and there was a cat there and she let me pet her. I got a nice little tan line, but we were careful not to get burned.
Everybody here is fine, Wally and Flurt are still barking up a storm. I enjoy helping out with tasks like feeding fishes each day. I call out next door for Dr T’s yard man, his name is Russell and I meet him at the fence. He helps us keep track of Wally. I love gazing at the moon in the evenings and am getting to know the schedule of Cayman Airways flights in the morning, Planes are fascinating - I love the Vaboom!
You all take care and I will tell Jesus to love you too.
December flew past us like Santa and his 8 reindeer. We had a happy Christmas. I got lots of great presents from Santa and my family. Santa gave me a baby dolly and I take good care of her; we like having tea parties together.
We did a lot of shopping this month and I can say Targea'. Aunt Wendi taught me that one. I love shoes now, all colors, but my pink Crocs are my favorite. There is so much to learn and it’s hard being a sponge, it takes so long to pick open all the doors and drawers with those gadgets they put on them now a days, anyway when I grow a couple more inches I will rule the counters.
I’m not allowed in Daddy’s office anymore, I don’t know why he gets so upset when I take apart his gadgets. I think the stuff looks much better on the ground anyway. No one wants to compromise anymore - it’s always their way and I am getting sick of hearing no, no, no. I can wiggle my finger and look over my brow just like Aunt Wendi. It always gets a laugh, and then they forget why they were mad in the first place.
I got a tricycle for Christmas, I really like it; I can say Bike. They don’t make Schwinns like they used to though, I think it was made in China – one of the pedals already fell off, Daddy says Mom got a lemon.
I played with my favorite people this month, Jak and Abril. Abril speaks Spanish and English too! Boy, is she smart. If Daddy gets mad with me now, can you imagine when I start speaking Spanish. I will work on it and report later in the year. I also figured out Uncle Charlie grows one of my favorite foods: pumpkins! His pumpkins are sweet and good. Whenever he sneaks in and drops off a pumpkin on the back patio, I yell out: Charlie!
Thanks to everyone that helped me so much this year and hope you all have a Happy and Prosperous New Year.
